Kookaburra Kahuna PRO Cricket Bats 2022 - Complete Review by CSO

Amar excitedly reviews the Kookaburra Kahuna Pro 2022. This is probably the most famous cricket bat with a huge fan base because of its dynamic gameplay and quality. Amar explains in the video below that Kookaburra is always careful with selecting the best English willow clefts for their bats. The Kookaburra Kahuna is an extremely high-quality bat with a consistent profile. All the bats have the same profile because these are Kookaburra’s flagships and have no deviation in any lengths.

Kookaburra Kahuna Pro 2022 Cricket Bat

Amar opens the first bat from the box. An extremely clean willow with green colored sticker branding on Kahuna, the signature color that represents Kahuna Pro. The bat has a mid-profile with some shave-off on both sides that goes till the bottom of the spine (signature Kahuna style). Since the spine of the bat is extended to the bottom, the sweet spot also lies in the middle. Amar explained that Kookaburra works each year to make their bats a piece of art.

Bat Handle and Pick-up

The bat is exceptionally light in the pickup. Amar clarifies that all the kookaburra bats in 2022 are coming with oval handles, which become slimmer from the upside of the handle.

Kahuna Pro’s Design and Quality

He praised kookaburra for the stickers and for making the bat aesthetically excellent. The stickers have a good texture with a feel like a 3D effect. The bat is made up of grade-1 English Willow and has around 10-12 straight and even grains on the face. Amar shows the bat face, which is extremely clean and spotless (exactly how a grade 1 willow is like). The ping is highly consistent and soft when hitting white and red balls on the bat. The bat provides an excellent hitting experience. The bat weighs around 2lb 8oz to 2lb10oz, depending on the type of handle length you choose. Due to extremely great aerodynamics and weight distribution, the bat feels like 2lb 7oz in a swing.

Kahuna Pro Profile Specs

Kahuna Pro has an edge thickness of 35-38mm, which is above average in professional cricket bats. This reduced edge thickness means lighter weight and a faster pickup. The bat also has a spine height of 63-64mm, which helps you absorb the extra shocks when hitting a power shot.

Amar unboxes a total of 9 high-quality Kookaburra Kahuna Pro bats in the video, and all of them are utterly similar in terms of profile and length. The only difference you will ever find in these bats is that the number of grains on these bats might vary from around 9-12 grains due to the different willows used. It doesn’t make any impact but is more of an aesthetic choice. The rest, from performance to dimensions, are pretty similar.
