What are the top 10 cricket bats in the world 2018? I get asked this question a lot, in fact probably every week. Ive been in the cricket business now since 2010 & I've probably reviewed more bats than anyone in the world. I've also done videos, written blogs and tested many of the top cricket bats in the world. I think im pretty well qualified to make this judgement.
However what I've decided to do this time is to ask our fans from social media what they think are the top 10 cricket bats in the world 2018. ( in no particular order as voted for our Facebook fans )
1. SS TON Reserve Edition Cricket Bat
The SS TON Reserve Edition cricket bat as voted for by Chetan Singh Shekhawat is a classic from SS Cricket. SS have taken their absolute most beautiful willow and reserved it for this incredible high end cricket bat. Nothing but the best for this one.
2. Bradbury HC450 Exception Cricket Bat
The Bradbury HC450 Cricket Bat as voted for by Christy Alenchery is Crafted from the best of the best- the top 10% of grade one clefts, individually hand-graded by the bat makers. This model has been developed with the consultation on Hilton Cartwright, and named after his position in Australian test cricket history as the 450th player for Australia.
3. Hammer Black Edition Cricket Bat
The Hammer Black Edition Cricket Bat as voted for by Dipak Patel has now also been around for a few years. Hammer introduced the Black Edition a few years ago to allow customers who wanted exclusivity and excellence in their bats. Coming out in limited numbers ( only 25 ) Hammer take their best 25 clefts and reserve them for the Hammer Black Edition. Bats get marked with the Limited Editions numbers from 1-25 and each year there is a scurry to get the #1 bat. Bat covers are also exclusive with the matching number on the cover. In 2016 a 3 star model ( pictured above ) was introduced for customers who couldn't quite afford the $600 price tag on the Black but that still wanted something a little special.
4. CA Plus 15000 Player Edition 7 Star Cricket Bat
Like the Hammer Black Edition the CA Plus 15000 7 star cricket bat as voted for by Siby Thomas is the best of the best & thats why it makes the top 10 bats in the world 2018 list. CA have been known over the years to have some of the most beautiful willow known in the industry. In years past it was the CA 12000 TRD that was their best. Nowadays its the CA 15000 that has the most amazing willow, tight straight grains and also super light. Be careful though of bats coming out of Pakistan as these bats along with bats from MB Malik are easily the most copied bats. You will find thousands of fake bats all over the world. In recent times we've discovered many of these bats with drawn on grains to make them look more expensive that they actually are. Only buy from legitimate retailers.
5. MRF Genius Gran Edition Cricket Bat Virat Kohli
The MRG Genius Grand Edition Cricket Bat as voted for by Ishan Lakhia is another one of those pure great bats. Players like Virat Kohli & AB De Villiers use this same profile. If you're looking for an authentic player grade bat of this nature, look for the model that has no toe guard, no edge stickers and also no toe sticker. These are the models used OR reserved for players. Cricket Store Online each year goes direct to the MRF factory and not only hand selects all the shelf bats but we exclusively get access to the Players Room & are allowed limited numbers of authentic players bats.
6. New Balance BURN Cricket Bat
The new lightweight New Balance BURN cricket bat as voted for by Andrew Weeks for 2018 means you won't be short of time when facing the quicker bowlers. If you're a batsman who likes to hang around on the crease this bat is light enough you wont get to tired, the new BURN might be your best ally. Designed to be easy to maneuverer, this stick will enable batsmen to get into position quickly and strike fast. This is a shorter blade , longer handle cricket bat & is used by Joe Root in T20 cricket.
7. Kookaburra Ghost Cricket bat
The Kookaburra Ghost Cricket Bat as voted for by Jignesh Patel has now been around for a few seasons and is quickly becoming a fan favorite. This is evidence by the fact that Kookaburra now offer a few different models where as in the first year they didn't. The Ghost cricket bat has typically been a fuller profile heavier bat BUT now Kookaburra also offer a LITE version for the smaller guys who cant pick up heavier bats.
