The Woodworm Cricket Brand is a brand that started out like a house on fire. Andrew Flintoff would bully bowling attacks into submission with his hefty piece of Woodworm Willow. The brand then stepped it up a notch, when Kevin Pietersen and his side winder hair style arrived on the scene. KP was an absolute sensation in his first ODI series in South Africa. He scored centuries with what looked like ease. He was then selected for his first Ashes series in 2005 and KP was an absolute sensation.

Woodworm took top honors in this recent test with Mark Ramprakash. Click here to read more.

While England's batting floundered in the first test match of the series, KP was a shining star. Few can forget the famous incident of KP launching Glenn McGrath onto the players balcony of the famous Lord's cricket ground.

KP was the hero at the end of that Ashes series too, he famously scored a century on the final day to save the test match for England and secure the Ashes for the English. Woodworm exploded after that with many young players looking to buy themselves a Woodworm Cricket Bat.

But Woodworm fell on tough times. They lost the branding of really high profile players and lost much popularity. They still produce quality cricket bats and have the services of Tim Bresnan who would be their most prolific brand ambassador.

What will be with the Woodworm brand of cricket bats, remains to be seen, but they definitely produce a brand of really high quality cricket bats.
