We know from our other bat related blogs that Grade 1 bats are the best English Willow bats (professional quality) and as the grade increases, the overall quality of the willow decreases (providing relatively less durability/performance). The numbers on the SG Player bat models relate to the grade of the bat.

English Willow Grades for SG Player bats

• 2.x = Grade 1 Bat - superior quality premium bats
• 3.x = Grade 2 Bat - superior quality performance bats
• 4.x = Grade 3 Bat - higher quality performance bats
• 5.x = Grade 4 Bat - higher quality budget bats
• 6.x = Grade 5 Bat - budget bats (practice)

Also, because the increase in grade levels results in a decrease in overall willow quality, the bats also become more cheaper. We don’t recommend using Grade 5 English Willow bats during game day or for prolonged use, but they’re fine for practicing.

   This is one of the best SG player profile bats. Made with Grade 1 Premium English Willow, this SG Original Player bat is designed as per player specifications. If you’re looking for the exact bat that any of these players uses (Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, KL Rahul, and Shane Watson), then this is the bat for you. You will not be able to select the player itself from the website, so please contact us and let us know which player’s bat do you prefer, otherwise we will make a random selection for you. 2. 2. SG HP Cricket Bat

   

   This bat is currently available in Grade 4 English Willow, but can be made available in other English Willow grades based on your request. The HP bat is exactly designed after the bat Hardik Pandya uses. Hand picked from the factory, this bat has extremely thick edges and also feels a bit heavy to suit an aggressive game full of big hitting. With a mid to low swell (sweet spot), this bat belongs in the medium weight category and you will need to order it with a toe guard because it doesn’t come with it. 3. 3. SG KLR Cricket Bat

   

   This bat is currently available in Grade 4 English Willow, but can be made available in other English Willow grades based on your request. The KLR bat is exactly designed after the bat KL Rahul uses. Hand picked from the factory, this bat has a traditional bow arc profile and offers all round stroke ability. Even though this bat belongs in the medium weight category, it offers the lightest pickup out of all the player bats and you will need to order it with a toe guard because it doesn’t come with it. 4. 4. SG SW Cricket Bat

   

   This bat is currently available in Grade 4 English Willow, but can be made available in other English Willow grades based on your request. The SW bat is exactly designed after the bat Shane Watson uses. Hand picked from the factory, this bat might require one more extra grip to offer a great pickup as these bats are quite bottom heavy. This is a lightweight bat compared to other player profile bats and they have a mid to low swell (sweet spot).
