There are many more bats in the SG stable, particularly in the mid to lower range. Whether you are a beginner trying to hone your batting skills or a seasoned professional, there is an SG bat for everyone. Each batter has a different requirement depending on his or her batting style. So, what should one look for when buying a bat? Well, there are several factors that one should take into account when buying a bat.
The most important aspect is the weight. It should neither be too heavy nor too light, just optimum. Otherwise it can adversely impact your overall batting technique. Then, the shape of the bat should be just perfect to suit your batting style. Shape includes the curve, the thickness of the edges, the handle length, and the positioning of the sweet spot. The wood quality is also very important- the Willow grade that is used to make the bats. Usually there are five grades of willow- from grade 1 to grade 5. Grade 1 is the best with about 8 to 12 straight grains, and grade 5 is a bit coarse with 4 to5 straight grains.
Thus, buying that perfect bat needs a fair bit of analysis in terms of your batting style and where you stand in the batting level. And of course, affordability is equally important. So, do proper research before you zero in on a particular bat.
