World Cup XI

The World Cup is around the corner and the squads have been picked. There is the natural West Indian cricket politics with Bravo and Pollard having been omitted from the squad and there is of course the injury concerns too, with South Africa sweating on the fitness of their wonder boy Quinton De Kock and Australia on the fitness of their star batsman Michael Clarke.

Here is the CricketStoreOnline World Cup XI and the bats that they use:

Chris Gayle (Spartan)

The big West Indian and his tree trunk of a Spartan cricket bat, bring so much X factor to the crease that he can rip the game away from the opposition before the fielding restrictions have been lifted.

David Warner (Gray Nicolls)

The Australian pocket rocket is a dynamic batsman no matter the format. He will score you bucket loads of runs at a rapid pace and he is a huge asset in the field.

Hashim Amla (BAS)

The rock of any ODI innings. He gets his runs inconspicuously quickly and he will never ever give away his wicket. He is a handy in-field catcher too.

Virat Kohli (MRF)

The Indian star is a fantastic batsman who always shows up on the big occasions. Like Amla, he scores very quickly and is a fieldsman.

AB De Villiers (Kookaburra)

AB De Villiers. What more is there to say, the best ODI batsman in the world. He scores his runs all over the ground and will destroy any bowling attack as we saw him put the sword to Dale Steyn in the IPL.

Steve Smith (New Balance)

Picked purely on form, Steve Smith is having that type of year that it is hard to leave him out of any team.

James Faulkner (Gray Nicolls)

This guy has big match temperament. He finishes games like nobody else and is a handy bowler too.

Mitchell Johnson (Spartan)

Another X-Factor player. He can run through the best of batting orders and is a great late over hitter with the bat.

Dale Steyn (New Balance)

The best bowler in the world. He would walk into any team in the world in any format and on any surface.

Sunil Narine (Nike)

Of all the mystery bowlers and spinners, Narine has really proven himself as more than just a novelty but truly a great slow bowler.

Trent Boult (GM)

In a great New Zealand side, Trent Boult really offers a lot with the ball. What is more is that he is a star in the field too.

Substitutes: Brendon Mccullum (Puma), Kane Williamson (Gray Nicolls), Mahela Jayawardene (SF), Kumar Sangakkara (SS)
