New for 2010, the Nike Air Zoom Century feature a traditional structure but attempt to use the modern design features to reduce foot sliding forward during the bowling mechanism. A traditional tongue combined with the strapping maintains optimal foot positioning and work with the lacing to reduce sliding and provide support. The rubber sole is replaced by carbon rubber for added durability and stability. A heel Zoom air unit provides shock absorption and reduces spike pressure through the midsole. A Pebax spike plate throughout the midsole provides a light weight mount for the spikes, aids midfoot stability, reduces torque and thereby reduces excessive pronation. As worn by many International players including Jonathon Trott (England), Martin Guptill and Daniel Vettori (New Zealand).
