I went from a cricket tape ball bat, you know, the extra hollow, extra wide, extra curved and most importantly extra cheap kind to this more involved bat and am presently surprised.
First of let me say that this is a beautiful bat. The little touches engravings, stickers, fiber glass covering etc. make it appealing even more so then the pictures on the site. It probably looks more expensive than it should. The quality portends more towards "that lasted a long time", instead of "I would have been better of using that 100 dollars for toilet paper ".
The first time you hold the bat, you will notice a different contour on the handle, which makes the bat much easier to maneuver. The weight is good, and the bat feels solid and quick. The meaty part of the bat is just that, meaty, but the non-meaty part is not as filled out as it would be on a more expensive bat. Toe-Tek should be named Toe-Garbage, as it came off the bat just after a couple of uses. Albeit, this is nothing that a little gluing didn’t fix.
The bat is plenty and more if you are playing in a secluded street where your fielder at third man is your neighbors car. Although, if you are playing on a regular field the power generated from this bat leaves something to be desired. Although, this is unnecessary harassment aimed at a product that never claims to be grade 1 willow material. It is a Grade 4 that seems to have cleverly ransacked the closet of its distant cousin and has come out looking, feeling and playing like a 100 bucks. Just enough for any of us, unwilling to move up a grade for another 100. For the moment this but does enough and more than enough when compared to my first love...the cheap, extra hollow, extra wide and extra easy to break cricket tape ball bat.
